Greetings again all you Americans out there. Well, I made it in one piece. I had forgotten how hard jet lag can bit you. I had also forgotten how utterly impossible it is to get any real rest on a plane flight in ecomomy class. I'm just glad I didn't have to meet my new bosses that evening, I was barely able to speak English at that point, let alone any Japanese at all. And that's not saying anything about not having showered for 36 hours, during which time I lugged 95 pounds of luggage around.
This is just a post to let everyone know I'm still alive, and I made it okay. I'll give a full update of my escapades in my training session a bit later, when I have interet access for a longer period of time.
So I've made my first big screw-up here - I had a bit of a party last night to celebrate my birthday, and it was not bad by home standards, but it did last until 1:00 in the morning, and we were a bit louder than intended. Therefore, I am starting at the bottom of the social ladder, and have to do everything I can to correct that. Well, it looks like an interesting time, at any rate.
Talk to you guys later.

Awww, your party probably wasn't as bad as me at Howl at the Moon. I'd definitely lower than you on the social ladder!
Hey, Jeff, did you hear that the penguin marched one more time? When Ernesto was bearing down on us, they decided to crawl Atlantis back to the VAB--but they only got halfway there, when they saw the storm track took it overland, and they downgraded the storm. NASA decided to crawl it back to the pad, and it weathered the mild storm in the MLP protection. They are talking about launching Wednesday about 12:30pm, so I'll be on the lookout. Got a big meeting that morning, so I won't be going to the Cape.
Hope you get to see it, early in the AM!
