Arrival! Also, first screw up! It's a big one!

Greetings again all you Americans out there. Well, I made it in one piece. I had forgotten how hard jet lag can bit you. I had also forgotten how utterly impossible it is to get any real rest on a plane flight in ecomomy class. I'm just glad I didn't have to meet my new bosses that evening, I was barely able to speak English at that point, let alone any Japanese at all. And that's not saying anything about not having showered for 36 hours, during which time I lugged 95 pounds of luggage around.

This is just a post to let everyone know I'm still alive, and I made it okay. I'll give a full update of my escapades in my training session a bit later, when I have interet access for a longer period of time.

So I've made my first big screw-up here - I had a bit of a party last night to celebrate my birthday, and it was not bad by home standards, but it did last until 1:00 in the morning, and we were a bit louder than intended. Therefore, I am starting at the bottom of the social ladder, and have to do everything I can to correct that. Well, it looks like an interesting time, at any rate.

Talk to you guys later.

Signing off for a while

Okay all, it's the night before I'm heading over. I've packed everything but the kitchen sink, which means I'll probably forget my passport or something equally important on the way out. This may be my last post for a little while. I'm not sure when I will regain internet access, but I will post again very soon after I do. Catch you guys on the flip side.

Finally figured out how to make this stupid page work!

Hey everyone!

Well, it's a few days until my trip across the big pond, I've got about five hundred things to do in three days, but I thought it was worth the time to figure out how to make this site work, seeing as how this is how I said I'd keep in touch with 75% of you out there. Incidentally, my e-mail address is jeff.caffery@gmail.com, for those of you who would like to send something just to me, instead of posting here. I don't know how everything on this site works yet, I'll be trying out functions on the fly. If you can't get anything to work, let me know. We'll all learn together.
